What's On Rinconeers?

Latin America has in Caracas, Venezuela one of the largest active social groups of expats (expatriates) in South America. Called the Rincon Gang or Rinconeers, they publish a regular newsletter, the Rincon Reminder, which updates their Caracas community web site, www.Expat-Village.com The Rincon Reminder updates are also issued to ex-Caracas Rinconeers now living and working in over 25 countries..
The Expat-Village web-site has all the latest Venezuelan news in English. We publish news stories of interest to expatriates, including world news, sport, entertainment and business. We have features on travel in Venezuela, Latin America and the Caribbean, quick food recipes, and Venezuela security alerts. Caracas social activities are listed in ‘What’s on in Caracas’, and we’ll keep you amused with the 'Joke of the Day' page.

What's On Rinconeers?
B.I.G. Christmas Party - Dec 2
Click on this link to see the full article!!!
To All Members of the British & International Group

A reminder to those of you who have not yet bought your tickets, that you are warmly invited to attend a Christmas Party at the British Residency in Country Club on Friday 2nd December from 7.30pm.

NB Only a few tickets remain!

There will be a buffet dinner, live music and a tombola.

Entrance is by ticket only, and is strictly limited, on this occasion,
to Members of B.I.G and their Partners, and house guests of Members.

Come along and enjoy the festive spirit, try your luck on the tombola.  If you are wondering what a tombola is, it is a raffle with a difference, a game of chance.

Numerous prizes have a number attached to each, the number ending in either 0 or 5. Entrants buy tickets for the raffle and if the ticket number ends with a 0 or 5 they win the corresponding prize with that  number. Eg. the numbers 20, 35, 70 would be winners, 13, 47, 33 would not.If you buy 10 tickets you could win nothing or you could win 10 prizes!!! Very addictive!

If you have a new/unused gift that you would like to donate for the tombola,
we would be very grateful.  The more prizes on offer, the more you can win!
Suggested value up to Bs.30,000.  Or perhaps you might like to make a cash/gift donation from your company for a special prize?

Donations can be left at the British Residence in Altamira at any time before the 2nd December, or left with any committee member, or alternatively be brought along to the Christmas Party.

Don't miss out  - Tickets cost Bs. 80,000 per person, to include buffet and welcome drink and maybe your ticket number might be drawn to win the door prize!

Tickets are available now from the following people:

Jacquelin Free Tel: 283-7469 or 285-3248 jfree@tbscaracas.com

Tim Barr writes;

2005 Tobago Race Week in May
We will be sailing in a 37ft Beneteau First Class Europe "Aquarela". Depending on the crew's experience, we will race in either Racing Class or Racer/Cruiser class.

The plan would be for the boat to leave Trinidad on the Thursday evening, July 7th arriving in Grenada on Friday morning. You can join the boat on the trip across to Grenada (approx 16hrs) or take a flight to Port of Spain on Thursday evening then on to Grenada early on Friday Morning.

Racing starts at 10:30am on Friday the 8th Caribbean Star and Liat both have flights leaving Port of Spain early in the morning so you can make the race even if you leave POS on Friday morning. Flights are as follows for 8th July: Caribbean  Star  792   POS Grenada   0625 0705,   Liat   310   POS Grenada   0600 0635.
