Skype, This is Not Nice!

Last week Skype sent their users an email asking to change passwords. To that end users should click on a link provided on an email, enter their username and password and change to something new.
Apparently Skype was doing this to protect our privacy and data.
Sure this is good. But in these days of on-line phishing and scams, people will not be clicking on links and providing email username and password. I didn't do it, because I have SkypeIn and SkypeOut accounts, and I don't want anyone using my account (if that wasn't a legitimate email).
So I visited the Skype web site, and guess what? No information about this "password change" requirement. So I didn't do it.
Now I can't login into my account. And worst thing is Skype "password recovery" feature sends message to the email address originally used to create the Skype account. As J Kendrick found out before, what if the email is no longer in use, or if the domain is not available anymore?
Lucky I have access to my old email (it's a free email I use for sign ups only), but I am sure others won't have it anymore.
Come on Skype. Are you doing this to make users happy, for security or just to clean the few dollars in our accounts, since we can access these anymore?
Make things transparent. Make things easier, not harder.
Not a good service.
