Ingredients
12 large fresh mushrooms
1/4 lb. Italian ground pork sausage
1 cup cornbread stuffing mix
6 green onions, finely chopped
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (2 oz.)
3 tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
2 tsp. garlic salt
1 tsp. ground black pepper
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Remove stems from mushrooms. Place mushroom tops in shallow baking pan; set aside. Finely chop mushroom stems and set aside.
2. In skillet cook sausage until brown; drain well. Add chopped mushroom stems, stuffing, green onions, cheese, butter, garlic salt and pepper; mix well. Spoon into mushroom tops.
3. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until heated through.
